The courses are held at The Weald & Downland Open Air Museum
in the heart of the beautiful West Sussex Countryside
.

These courses are hosted by one of Britain's leading trained poultry experts, David Bland,
whose books and monthly magazine articles are always in constant demand
.

The courses are packed full of information about keeping chickens and other poultry.

                       The subjects will include:                           

Handling, feeding, housing, hygiene, breeding, regulations and the retailing of eggs.

                    Previous participants have included people wishing to keep a few chickens in their back garden,                   through to representatives from manufacturing feed companies and garden centres.

   Whether you plan to keep just a few chickens, or require a better basic understanding to improve your hens welfare,    devoid of the many associated myths, then you will find the husbandry courses both informative and entertaining!

The courses costs as little as £50 per person and also includes coffee, tea and a light lunch.

Introducing by Special Request...

Practical Poultry Session: Saturday 16 June 2012 - 10.30am to 12.30pm

David Bland is holding a special session for people who have already attended the poultry
husbandry day and wish to extend their knowledge, perhaps after acquiring poultry themselves. 
The course offers a further hands-on session in a small group at a local private smallholding.

Participant Information

You should wear working clothing and bring Wellingtons. Details of how to get to the smallholding
will be sent to you on booking. If you do not have transport, please inform The Weald & Downland
Open Air Museum on booking and they will try to arrange a lift for you.

This course costs only £25 per person.
